*** The Invisible Audience...So after a week of tightening up, the bands attendance for the show at Ghetto Park proved to be somewhat lacking. Armada! sounded great. Even with our invisible drummer (myself on the drum loops) we still managed to sound semi-professional and loud, from our usual subdued drummer-less acoustic sets. I even threw in an original tune, but does a song play in the forest if no one is there to hear? The fault this time laid in the promoters. I think someone pulled this show out of their ass to impress a chick or something, cause we got called Tuesday to do a show on Sunday. Normally we have at least two weeks to promote a show but someone was in a hurry. Some underage girls showed up with hula hoops and all the drunk horny pricks of the sausage-fest kegger aimed right for them. One of the girls was smart enough to bring an older brother so a good time was had by none. The venue sucked, but we rocked and that is all that matters. Although I do feel a little bad for guilting life_of_brian into the show after he missed the last two shows, but live and learn, if we get an outdoor gig for 3pm I'll let him stay home and bring the I-pod. We're now looking into other options for performances but I think the Armada! "going down in flames" local world tour will be on a short hiatus...'til the next gig. *** Correcting the Corrections...So it turned out that my co-hort wearedna's father did have a mild heart attack. I made the assumption right away when he was here working on the comic with me Friday afternoon. He received a call from his mom and just from the hearsay I could assess the situation. I'm no amateur cardiologist, my own dad has had three heart attacks and a stroke so I'm very wary of the symptoms. wearedna's father is doing fine now, coming home from some surgery on Saturday, so all will be well on that front. ***

| Surgical Masks |
[14 Nov 2009|09:41pm] |
Long story short, I am looking for a fun surgical mask for someone with a supressed immune system to wear to a Christmas Party.
I have seen different ones at Children's hospitals, but would love to know if anyone could provide me with a source. I will be calling various medical supply companies, but if I could narrow it down a bit, that would be appreciated!

Where should one go for a depression screening? I don't feel like waiting 5 hours at the walk-in to be told to go somewhere else.

| Outside Alcohol |
[14 Nov 2009|04:14pm] |
Can licensed establishments (Karaoke rooms, pubs, etc.) really fine people for brining in outside alcohol? I was given a pretty cool-looking flask for my birthday, and I figured it'd be a good way to avoid spending the crazy amounts that these places charge for drinks, but I've seen signs in a few venues threatening fines of around $500.
I don't mean to cause any trouble, of course, I'm just cheap and curious on what authority these places could fine people for brining their own drinks.

Odd people abound. But then, I take extremely polite people to be a little strange. When someone 'respectfully asks my first name' small alarm bells go off. But he could be really just a nice guy. When he asks the meaning of the name and its origin, again, eyebrows go up. Meh.
I dreamed last night that J was stuck in a tree on a hill that was on woodbine that doesn't exist. I'm interpreting it as woodbine anyhow - I don't think it was really, but anyhow... I had to go get him because he's a massive coward... but... there were big wild cats that were running up the street. Tigers and cheetahs, I think. And some more on the top of the hill, lazily looking at me. But I had to get my baby, so I did :P Not a whole lotta sense coming from that.
I'm at Book City, and it's been an oddly busy opening half-hour. Santa Claus parade tomorrow. People are getting in the spirit or something and spending.

1am, November 14th By now, the pain is gone and my legs are just incredibly stiff. To avoid a repeat of last night, I did an exercise that I "made up", which involves squatting and standing back up, using the momentum of waving my arms to balance myself and also to help me back up. I also did 12 reps each of The Dragon Kicks Forward/Back, and 32 'taps' of The Dragon Taps His Foot. I am breathing quite heavily, and my legs are definitely ready to rest. Mission accomplished. Good night. Posted via LiveJournal.app.

Rob Halford - Get into the Spirit [on Eddie Trunk] |

Hello Kiddies,
Today was a just SUCKTASTIC day. There was however one redeeming bright spot. My phone crashed and the entire system was wiped out. Contacts, pictures, programs, everything. While that could have been the icing on the cake, I had everything back to the way it was in less than a half hour! :)

Ah, internet, I've missed you at home. It's been a busy week - I've been working on a catalogue for Fitz for most of the week, stopping by the office long enough to steal files, do some stuff, and typically get roped into doing something else. Today I went in for the whole day, because I needed as much info and files as I could get, and sometimes being there reminding people that you need their stuff is the best way to do that. Still, today went late as everyone is scrambling to get their stuff in, and that being said, we didn't get a lot of it in. So... that's not my fault, I don't think. I'm working tomorrow, of course, and Sunday from 12-8 for Graeme, which I'm regretting now, because I'd really rather be doing a catalogue.. well, I'd rather not, but I'd rather not be working the weekend. I went to the Real Jerk and grabbed dinner because there was no way I wanted to cook tonight - I skipped on lunch because I was busy. I just caught the last episode for season 3 of Mad Men. :O
